Could you clarify what the problem is with? The IC or the Capacitor?
Also, you said there was a fire on that chip? When did you notice this?
Last, what's the specs of this system, including the power supply?

thanks for reply...
I have power supply 450Watt working fine
Processer is AMD Athlon XP 2500+ mobile ( Barton core)
1.5 GB DDR RAM 3200+ 400FSB
60 Gigz HDD

it was not booting so i open cover and trying to do it at that time
i noticed that capacitor was pinched and pressed ( i think it was since long time when this system was assembled but may be long use it is damage now a days) but i did not take that seriously
than pull out RAM and put it back again
as i power on ..... that IC got excessive heat and over the top it got red , little SMOKE and black spot on it.....
stilll if i on power IC get Very HOT..... system is not booting alll fan and everything is working but NO disply.... on Monitor.... i chack AGP card another system it is working fine too....

after this incident i changed capacitor (i got it from another mother board) but now IC is damage so problem is with IC .... i am looking for same number or equivallant or any IDEA ....

thanks

you gave your own answer your only solution is to buy a new mobo and hope for other parts not to be burned (if your voltage regulator isn't a good quality one)

btw change the whole system if you can

athlon x2 3800 or core2duo 4300 will be even better choices than buying only a new mobo for your old cpu
