Default Need small gaming desktop for under £750/$1500

I need a desktop that can play games reasonably well for under £750. It needs to be small because I don't have much space and I need to move it from location to location. I was considering a gaming laptop, but I don't have the money for one.

Or if you could recommend a small desktop whose GPU I could upgrade, that would be helpful as well.

No! Stay far away from Cyberpower/iBuypower. If your system works, then fine, but their customer service and competence is horrendous.

As for a small gaming box, have you thought about an SFF (Small Formfactor) box and an LCD panel? As in roll your own?

Case/Power Supply/Motherboard: Shuttle SP35P2 £347
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 £75
RAM: Corsair XMS 2x1GB PC6400 £39
Video Card: eVGA GeForce 8600GT £67
Hard Drive: Seagate 250GB SATA £40
Optical Drive: LG 20x DVD+/-RW £24.50
Monitor: LG 19" Widescreen LCD £132
Keyboard: Microsoft 500 Wired £9
Mouse: Logitech LX3 Optical £14.01

Total: £747.51

The thing with small form factor is the fans might be abit loud

However, I think all of this is good:

Black Thermaltake LANBOX Gaming Cube Case VF1000BWS Micro ATX Mini ITX Computer Chassis TT Aluminum PC Case Side Window Carrying Handle-Best Computer Online Store Houston Buy Discount Prices Texas-Directron.com
$114

Looks like a very good case for your needs, if you want to go REALLY small you can install a 7" LCD into it, I would also reccomend putting fans in all the empty slots and get a fan speed controller to quiet it down. I'm not sure what size psu your meant to install though. Although with Micro-ATX you'll have to kiss SLI goodbye.
Getting a bigger form factor will probably allow you to get allot more performance.

$73
ASUS P5KPL-VM LGA775 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Intel G31 Intel Core2 Quad Ready PCIe Gigabit LAN HD-Audio-Best Computer Online Store Houston Buy Discount Prices Texas-Directron.com

Get 4 gigs of DDR2 800, and a core 2 duo E6850
And probably get a 8800 GT 512MB, if it fits

Is that the kinda form factor you want, or could it be bigger

*ps sorry about the bold I can't get it to change back

Remember, he's in the UK, so Newegg and Directron won't work.

Yeah, just using it as an example so he can se the specs

So if something as small as that is ur cup of tea than go for it, if you want more performance a small(ish) ATX rig would be better

Might I suggest the 8800gs? Double the preformance of an 8600gt for not much more $$. I purchased one recently and couldn't be happier(upgrading from a 7900gs).
