Is it set to boot from CD? If not then it won't be able to boot from the CD. To get your mobo to attempt to boot from the CD you'll have to look in the BIOS settings.

Windows Probably can't boot because it's practically in a different computer, and doesn't have any of the drivers.

Agreed. Check your motherboard manual for exactly where, but the boot sequence is likely in the 'Advanced BIOS Setup' (or something similar) menu.

See if you can get into Safe Mode (hit F8 right before Windows starts loading) and then remove everything from Device Manager to see if you can get in. Otherwise, you will have to reinstall Windows.

Try Download details: Windows XP Professional Utility: Setup Disks for Floppy Boot Install, might work!

U mean to say that Booting from CD drive as a first boot is not working. If you have more than one CD/DVD drive then i suggest u remove one of them and then boot ur computer with XP CD inside as selected first boot device. You bought a new mobo so definately u have to reinstall the windows to make it working properly and then the chipset drivers and all...
