Hey all...
I'm building a gaming machine on a budget for a friend. Would love any advice or suggestions with regard to possible hardware problems/mistakes in terms of what I've chosen. All responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. I'm sticking with XP Pro for the foreseeable future I think. I have Vista SP1 on a laptop of mine and I'm trying very hard not to really hate it. Plus, as far as I can tell from my limited research, framerates seem to be better with XP still even w/ the 32 bit version.
Thanks for your assessment of the build by the way. I know it takes time to look up components that maybe you're not completely familiar with. I appreciate the effort! |

Get a Q6600 SLACR 95watt edition and save your self some money
also do you really need a 1000 watt PSU???? you wouldn't even need it if you had 8800GT in Sli

You're probably right about the processor but for a $30 US difference, I figured why not get the Q6700. As for the PSU, I certainly don't need the 1000W but it's packaged with the case for a discount and I really like how much room the case has. Thanks for your input.
