My Computer

so, you have an existing CD-ROM & you added a DVD-RW, presumably all your drives are IDE, so, what devices are Master & Slave

primary IDE channel
|- master = HDD
|- slave = CD-ROM

secondary IDE channel
|- master = DVD-RW
|- slave = not used

is this how the devices are connected ?

My Computer

that ok, try setting both IDE device on the secondary channel to S/CEL (cable select by moving the jumper that selects master / slave) & the device connected to the end connector will be master & the device on the middle IDE will be slave

personally i have all IDE devices set to C/SEL because the small jumper doesn't wear out by constantly changing a device from master to slave & vice versa

if that also fails try it as primary slave
