Exclamation No idea What is wrong with my computer

i built a new pc about like a good couple months ago. specs are:

    Ram -- OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

MotherBoard-- ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe/WiFi AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard

    Power Supply-- APEVIA ICEBERG ATX-IB680W-BL 680W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply

    CPU-- AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor Model HD960ZWCGDBOX

Graphics Card-- EVGA 512-P2-N775-AR GeForce 8600GTS 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Hard Drive-- SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD321KJ 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

OS-- Microsoft Windows XP Home With SP2B

    Monitor-- CHIMEI CMV 221D Black 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 330 cd/m2 800:1

About a week ago i tried starting up my computer and nothing would come up on my monitor, the monitor would act as if my computer was on, so i turned it off then on and then the no signal screen came on for a few seconds and then back into the original phase. i used different cables yet nothing came up, so i used a different monitor, and the probelm still persisted, so i put in a 8800 gpu from a diffrent computer and not still changed, so i though my motherboard might be having a problem so i RMA'D it and got it back 2 days ago and my probelm still persists. i am completly stumped and need help. the only other option that i think would be the probelm could pehaps be my CPU but im not sure. HELP!!!

Normally i would suggest that its a GPU problem but since you said you replaced it and still nothing happened we'll move on.

Do you hear any beeps after turning it on? If you do go here and check out what they mean: BEEP CODES

Another possibility may be that your 4-pin CPU connector isn't connected. Check that as well.

Lastly, if all fails reset your CMOS. Unplug your PC. Gently pull out the circular silver coated CMOS battery, traditionally on the bottom right side of your Motherboard, and wait for 10 seconds. Put in back in and try booting up again.

Make sure you are using the EATX12V and NOT the PCI-E 6/8-pin for the cpu socket.
It should be an 8-pin connector NOT 6-pin. PCI-E and EATX can be easilly fitted into the wrong slots, especially confusing with plug-type psu's

The 6-pin is for the PCI-Ex, snap together the 2 cpu terminals to make an 8-pin connector
    (see image below)

    Other things to try:
    1) I believe your GPU doesnt need power for the x16 PCI-E. Try removing the power.
    1) Try both ram modules one at a time
    2) Also make sure you plug in the power for the gpu
    3) Both RAM Modules should be in the Yellow slots.
    4) Try installing a PCI based video card, and see if it posts. I know its 2 new boards but you may need need to reset the CMOS. Consult your motherboard manual to do this

By the way, are you sure your board is not shorting out on the case? (You used the riser pins)?

if all this fails it might be your psu isn't delivering enough power to the cpu (EPS12V), can you try a different one?

oops i ment 8 pin cpu, casue on my other computer its a 6 pin, but i still had the 8 pin in on the computer we are talking about and i did all of the above, i dont think getting a stronger power supply would do it, it could possible be my cpu thats going ape shit?

if your sure you've done all the above steps i told you about (including the individual ram test) and made sure you have the right 8-pin connector (and not the pci 8-pin) then the only thing i can think of is either the cpu, like you say, or a faulty psu delivering too little or too much voltage

also try removing all devices, like optical drives and hdds, etc and like scorp said, it is worth clearing the cmos, even tho its a new board

you know what, you might be right about the psu b/c i just tried to see if everything was working and 1 of my dvd drives doesnt open up, so im guessing it could be a faulty psu, so ill just RMA that and we'll see till then

ok well bad news. i got my new psu put it in and the problem still persists. again i switched gpu's and monitors, and my old computer works perfectly fine with the gpu in the computer that has the problem, the only thin is that my old comp has lower watts of power so it lags a little but thats the the problem. i am completely stupefied at this point. i have no idea wat the problem is, so far ive repalced my MB, PSU, used different GPU's and monitors, taken out the battery to reset the cmos and shit yet still nothing works. i think so far my best bet is to put 5 lb's of C4 and blow it up or hopefully get it fixed, the life of this computer is now in the hands of you guys that have been trying to help me out. lol

Have your checked your Front Panel connections? Its the white colored panel to your lower, right corner as seen here: http://www.ixbt.com/mainboard/asus/m...luxe/board.jpg
In the pictures its towards the bottom left corner

if you swap your cpu for a new one it may be the board needs an update to work, it may be a good idea to take it to the store, the best thing to do here is put a pentium processor into it (matching the right socket) to test everything else.

the odds are that the board doesnt like your cpu type, or that the cpu is damaged, just check the 12v cpu power psu connector with the above diagram i posted eariller, it should match exactly to your psu's 12v cpu rail pins. - reason i tell you this is it is very common for new pc users to put the pci-express cable into the cpu socket - they easilly fit into the same socket and yes i've done it myself!

im not an expert on psu's but if you get your CPU RMA'd and if the new one doesnt work then I would deffo take it to the store, if you have checked the ram individually there is something strange going on
