Thread: Nvidia geforce2 mx/mx 400 lots of problems

I recently reinstalled the windows on my old comp and thats where the troubles started.i misplaced my video card drivers so i went to nvidia and and went to the windows 98 driver archive and downloaded version 29.42
as it was the latest driver that supported my card(checked the supported products).I installed the driver restart my computer installed directx 8.1 and i runed dxdiag and direct3d wasnt available and all acceleration was disabled.i turned on hardware acceleration restarted the computer and when i turned it on black screen and it froze.i managed to disable hardware acceleration through safe mode.i went to nvidia and clicked auto driver detector and after a while it gave me an error:"a device attached to this computer is not responding "
i asked around and somebody pointed me to search in the legacy drivers .
i selected my model and operation system and it showed me version 81.89
i downloaded it installed it and turned on the computer.it was working.i runned dxdiag again same s**t as before.i enabled hardware acceleration and it froze again.i dont know what to do.when i run gamemaker 6.1 it said that i should upgrade my drivers(but version 81.89 is the newest for my card).then i tryed quake III arena and i got this error:
