Honestly, i think 43c is a bit warm for your cpu to be running, but not hot enough for it to overheat. I have a couple of suggestions for you:

• When it reboots, is it giving a blue screen error before it reboots?
• You may want to re-apply the thermal grease. There should only be a very thin layer. If you think you may have put too much, go back and redo it. This should improve temperatures.
• Right click My Computer and go to properties. Click on the Advanced tab and click the startup and recovery button. In the Window that pops up, make sure "automatically restart" is unchecked. This will ensure that in the case of a blue screen, it will stop for you to see the error without just rebooting.
• Lastly, leave the side panel of your chassis off the next time you are gaming. When it reboots or even after you have been gaming for a while, make sure you are grounded and touch the heat sync of your video card. If the video card is overheating, this could also be the cause of your issue. PS. While the side is off, it wouldn't hurt to also feel the cpu heat sync. Neither of these should burn your fingers. If you can't hold your fingers there, they are too hot

Hi fred thanks for reply,

The cpu was a retail version and had thermal paste already applied to heat sink so i guess this should be ok.
I had already turned off automatic restart but when the PC shuts down i do not seem to get any blue screen with error codes on and the computer still automatically restarts,
once when it crashed i did have take the side pannel off and all seemed cool.

Another problem that has also just started is occasionally when I start my pc up all the fans start and can hear things going on inside pc but no signal is transmitted to screen. So I turn off pc and restart again and this will then boot to a screen saying overclocking failed reset bios, I do this and all is fine, even though I have not overclocked pc this may be related to original fault.

It sounds to me like your problem is not software related. I would run a couple of passes of memtest (Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool) and see if you get any errors.

Lastly, after reading some reviews at newegg, it seems that other people are having some very similar issues (namely with the "overclocking" error. With this is mind, you may have a bad motherboard. You may first want to update your BIOS to the latest available. Several users specifically said this board does not work right with Crucial ddr2 1066mhz RAM.

It sounds like you have a few options:

1. If your board is not too old, you could either RMA it or try to get it replaced/repaired through the mfg. Although it may just be a flakey model and not fix your problem
2. Exchange/buy some different ram and see if your board starts working properly.
3. You could, of course, return the board or count it a loss and get a new mobo.

43 degrees is nothing, mine runs about that idle, and my old original athlon 1.3GHz ran at 70 on full load.
Admittingly on todays processors, they should be below 65 and definitel below 70 at maximum

my friend had an ASUS board back when he had a socket 754 AMD, and his occasionally did something like this and said he had some crashing or restarting problems a few times a week, he says it remedied after he took the cpu from the heatsink, because they were literally stuck together because the compound had gone hard and actually moulded to the CPU die. Some new thermal paste sorted this though.

just looking inside the pc and noticed the graphics card was making a strange noise it's not the fan sound as i stopped it briefly to check this, it's like a humming noise(hard to explain)
which was contantly going and the psu was making a noise like something shorting out or a static but came and went every couple of seconds, started writing this post and both have stopped together????
Could it just be when the psu is put under load it sometimes shorts out or is the graphics card causing the noise in psu as it's faulty.
with the Memtest86+ test which option do i need to download, confused us a bit, might just have to take it to pc world and let them take a look.

This time i was gaming with pc side case off and listened to the graphics card and it does make a lot of noice when under load, sounds like a harddrive running or cd rom loading, and this time i noticed my game freeze a few times for a fraction of a second just before computer crashed. i have never had a graphics card like this one before (BFG 8800 GTS) so unsure if the noises it's making is normal.

Looks kike it was a faulty PSU just changed it and all seems to be running fine, thank you for replys
