OK so as far as I remember from last night this was the situation:
My built in wifi card needed an acerhk module and I followed instructions and couldn't get it activated. Mandriva somehow detected it though. Well anyhow I bought an MSI PCMCIA G card and tested it under windows and it worked after i installed the drivers. Moving into Linux things are a bit more obscure. I plug it in and the lights come on and it seems to be working. However, in Harddrake, I do not see it listed. I see a Texas Instruments PCMCIA controller but no devices. I try to set up a new connection and load a windows driver using ndiswrapper. I don't know which drivers on the CD were installed on XP so I try each one to see if it works (about 5 different .inf files in the XP drivers folder). Each one gives the message that the device for this driver was not found. Anyone experienced problems like this?
