Well, with the current debacle over physics in games, there are two options, Intels Havok, and Nvidia's PhysX, and as far as game developers see it, in game physics are a must. In the middle of all this you have AMD, right now they are in a pretty nice little niche, their cards are optimized for ether Havok or PhysX. However, things are leaning a little more towards the PhysX option as things stand right now, and if PhysX becomes a standard, AMD will be between a rock and a hard place.
