i would imagine, but, it wouldn't work through the playstation network, it would be on the server for whatever game it is, so the interface would be through the game.

I don't think all online PS2 games would work, I only know of PES6 that works for sure.
check out the ps3 site to check the status of compatibility which should mention online support PlayStation.com
