My Computer

take heed:
Quote:
"Experienced first hand and posted here: Valve Orange Box for ~20$ Swiped from Digg: Digg - Valve disabling (apparently) legit Asian Orange Box keys The gist for those that don't want to register at CAG: 1. People buy Orange Box keys from a Thai site for $18. 2. Keys validate in Steam and allow people to play Orange Box. 3. Valve drops the hammer and disables Orange Boxes with these keys; doesn't (yet) allow a way to reregister with a USA key and continue playing with same Steam account. 4. Some games not registered with those keys are taken out as collateral damage. 5. Gamers wonder what is going on, since either the keys are legit and Valve is retroactively enforcing region protection, or the keys are fake and Steam is a bastard for accepting them in the first place."
no idea if its true, but i though i should warn you

I crack all my games, even when bought legally, I don't like the idea of any software sending info over the net (although my firewall stops it too ) or constantly having to dig out CD/DVD's that end up getting scratched anyway.

I don't even have a steam account

This is another reason I hate Half Life 2, because of Steam trying to mess with my gaming. It's almost as ridiculous as paying for FFXI monthly on the 360, when you have to pay monthly broadband costs, the charge for being on Xbox Live Gold and then a charge for the game itself? Madness.

As for Half Life 2 itself, I borrowed it from a friend, didn't let Steam get access, played it, finished it, gave it back, did the same with Episode 1. Probably will do the same with The Orange Box when he gets it.
