Default is it posible to repair a tar file

i have a 3.6 gig corrupt tar file i was woundering if there was a way to repair it with a program maybe thx all

Yes it is possible, depending on how damaged the file is. Do you know how it became damaged?

I know there are lots of programs out there that can fix corrupt archives, however I can only think of WinRAR at the moment.

i tried to open it with winrar it wouldent extract.

im not shure how damaged it is m8

thats only a demo and doesnt repair the file unless u pay 150 dollors

are there any free ones

Open the tar file in WinRAR and click 'Repair' on the toolbar

winrar can only repair rar and zip files not tar files
