My Computer

Default Possible Upgrade

I've decided it's time for a bit of an upgrade. I am a complete dumbass so I need help

Current Specs : (I don't know what is relevant so just copied and pasted important looking things haha)

Processor: x86 Family 6 Model 6 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~1600 Mhz

Total Physical Memory: 256.00 MB

Total Virtual Memory: 2.00 GB

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X
CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device
80GB Hard drive

Well I hope that helps. I am on a tight budget of around £100 so any ideas would be great. You're going to have to hold my hand through this because I am a noob

I'd look into bumping the RAM up to 512MB and upgrading to something like a Radeon 9600Pro if you're into gaming much at all.

My Computer

Here are 3 ideas: 512MB mem, 6200 w/ 256MB vram, or 6600 w/ 128MB DDR3 vram. I'd personally go with the 6600 myself, a very nice value, and the addition of DDR3 compaired to DDR is an extra perk. Hope this help.
Cheers Matt

Do you have any other suggestions for a graphics card at around the £75 mark? I am ordering the memory as soon as I get money though but I'm still undecided about which card to get.

personally, I'd stay away from 6200's, 6600's are good if you can afford one but if you can't I'd get a 9800pro with 256-bit memory.

for the graphics card, the 9800 pro http://www.hardwareforums.com/all-wonder-9800-pro-88-13-inc-vat-5576/ for around £90, well worth the extra £15!
