if you've had an upgrade:
your motherbard either doesnt support the two ram sticks together or a ram stick isnt supported, so if you have 2 or more sticks only use one or 2 of the same manufacture codes stick of ram(s)

if this has happend out of the blue:
check ram is seated properly, if they are a ram stick may be faulty, arrange the sticks taking one stick out at a time untill you find the faulty one, its a good idea to use the same manufacture and model pair of ram sticks
