ok so i recently put new ram into my desktop computer, the specs are cpu: AMD phenom II 1090t 6 core ram: 2x Strontium 4GB DDR-3 1333MHz gpu: sapphire ati HD 6970 hard drive: 2x 500gb sata drives, ok so now the problem, the computer had been running smooth for almost a year i put in the new ram chips and ever since then i have been having troubles, first one of my 500gb hard drives died, then i had a blue screen, occupationally i have crackly sound when listing to music or watching vids on you tube and when i am playing games, ie, skyrim, gtaiv my whole computer freezes causing me to restart the whole system, i have ruled out the ram, (it is working perfectly) and the GPU is fine also, so any idea what the problem would be would be FANTASTIC thank you -Thomas
Pull all the ram out, install one chip , and test,, remove that ram chip and install another, testing 1 by 1... You will have to test each and every piece of hardware..
My fathers computer recently had a similar problem (i.e. sudden restarts, BSODs and freezing). Reason was a dying PSU, so maybe try to get a good working PSU and test it out for a few days. But if you've noticed that the problems started when you installed the new RAM, then maybe running memtest and/or lowering the RAM clock in BIOS could help shed more light on whether the RAM isn't actually faulty.
ok so I lowered the clock speed of the ram in the bios and it has fixed all problems, thanks for all the help
