UPS fails with laser printer?

    Hello everyone,
    a just connected a new Smasung 2165W laser printer to my UPS, turned the printer On and the UPS went briefly red emitting the typical 'beep' warning sound.
    same happened when turning the printer Off.

    the only thing connected to the UPS was the printer itself


    the UPS is rated for 800VA, the printer for 310W and 2.5A

    do you think there's something wrong with the printer?

    or the UPS cannot take it?

    I'd highly doubt the UPS could not handle a printer
