Hello everybody, I'm in an awful pinch here. I had the FX-8120 in the Crosshair V Formula AM3+ motherboard. I recently purchased the FX-8350 CPU with the intentions of updating. Installing this CPU led me to the conclusion that because the mobo was older than the CPU, I needed a BIOS update. I put the older 8120 back in the mobo and flashed my BIOS to the latest version. A message "BIOS Update successful! Your computer will now reset." popped up after the flash. The computer restarted but nothing happened.

My computer did not POST, nor did it make any sort of beep noise. There was a red cpu led lit solid on my motherboard. I reinstalled the newer 8350, only to have the same thing happen. There are NO bent pins on either CPU.

Here is what I have done:
    - Reseated CPU and heatsink, both older and newer, several times.
    - Reseated power cords several times
    - Cleared CMOS via reset button on the mobo
    - Took out CMOS battery and did the whole "flip and touch the opposite side" thing
    - Inserted mobo CD in a blind and desperate attempt, same issue
    - Screaming to the heavens

All of these methods have led to a red CPU_LED light. My computer will not POST.

My assumption is that something went wrong during the flash, and that I will need to RMA my board or get another one.

I now reach out to all of you, to see if there is another solution. I unfortunately need this fixed asap, do to certain events coming up.

Thank you all for the help!

When you cleared CMOS, did you unplug the cord from the power supply?
