beginning photo manipulation

    a friend took this photo on the last day of term, and whilst its an awesome shot, there are several parts that ruin it, the purple lens flare, the arm on the right, and the people in the background, as well as several objects that reflected the sunlight and create a distraction.

    he asked me to fix it up, and this is my result.

    not a huge change, but its a start :)

    Nice work!! I started doing some photo manipulation recently but failed miserably. Even doing small things such as those show time and effort.

    Great work!, this is the sort of stuff my grandfather tries to do, but instead he just ends up with a photo that looks almost exactly the same, untill he fools with levels and blows it all to kingdom come. How'd you get the arm and sun flare out? Did you use the stamp/clone tool?

    i was thinking of doing a little step by step guide to show just how far i've come :)
