Default Power Save Mode

Hi everyone, Happy Sunday!

My poor old PC (3 1/2 yrs) is struggling with the season.

Every time I boot up, the monitor goes straight into power save mode.
I find that if I crash it and restart, or press the reset button, a few times whilst furiously moving the mouse, eventually it gets a picture.

Today for the first time, I had to reset it after the initial load up screen as the display went blank again before getting to the Windows log-on screen, though no Power Save Mode box this time.

I have an Athlon 2600+ running Win XP. No space problems and no visible hardware or software problems (if you don't count the fact that my network connection periodically decides it doesn't exist).

The graphics card is a Radeon 9200 with Driver version 8.231.0.0

I've looked up the keywords but what I found I didn't understand - is 'overclocking' something to do with it? What is that?

So I think it's something to do with the graphics card, but I'm not sure.

Can you help?

Cheers
Anji

check all connections nd make sure they are secure. runs anti virus, spyware, spybot search and destroy etc and clean all infections if found. if problem wtill persists, then it is most likely the gaphics card. try another one
