Default problem with keyboard

the simple answer is, i don't know, but how is the keyboard connected USB, P/S2

if USB you could try new USB drivers, also try scanning fro spyware & viruses
Off Topic:

Maybe you could try to connect it to the PS/2 port.

I've had the same problem with my Logitech G15. After some tries to solve this someone told me that my usb controller probably was broken. So I tried a PCI USB card. My keyboard doesnt disconnect anymore but the card is only detected in windows and not on startup so i still need a ps/2 keyboard till im in windows. Havent found a solution for this yet.
