Default Problem with Speakers

Hi,

I recently built a new PC. It has an ASUS M2N-E SLI motherboard, and a set of Creative SBS 580 5.1 speakers. I am running Vista 64-bit. My problem is that my speakers don't appear to be working. I have sound from the right and left speakers, and the subwoofer, but none from the central or rear speakers. If I go to Control Panel/Sound, it detects the speakers, and if I try to configure them, the rear ones make sounds. However, nothing makes the central speaker work, and the rear ones will not work anywhere else. All of the individual speakers work, however, when tested on their own, but I can't get it to work in surround sound. I have tried the drivers from the motherboard cd, but they don't help, and the driver from the ASUS site refuses to install. Any ideas?

Have check that any one of the sound output is mute in Master Volume or the Volume Control.

Nothing is on mute that I can see, unless there's an option to mute individual speakers, and if there is, I don't know how to get it. I was assuming it was a driver issue with Vista, but neither the Microsoft or ASUS websites are any help.

Well, there are drivers for XP, and they do work, but I haven't been able to find any that work with 64-bit Vista.

Did you set it to 5.1 speakers in the control panel?
I play these in PowerDVD. Make sure you also configure IT for 5.1.
