My Computer

Default Problems installing updates - Lenny

Hi all..... again!

This time my long time friend Lenny on my Laptop.
I was trying to install some updates. The updates downloaded ok and then started getting unpacked when I got a 100 result because some packages had unmet dependencies:
Quote:
Depends: libavcodec51 (>= 0.svn20080206) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libavutil49 (>= 0.svn20080206) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libpostproc51 (>= 0.svn20080206) but it is not going to be installed
Then I did - apt-get install -f in a shell and got this -
Quote:
Unpacking libavutil49 (from .../libavutil49_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libavutil49_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/libavutil.so.49', which is also in package libavutilcvs49
Unpacking libavcodec51 (from .../libavcodec51_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libavcodec51_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/libavcodec.so.51', which is also in package libavcodeccvs51
Unpacking libpostproc51 (from .../libpostproc51_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libpostproc51_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/libpostproc.so.51.1.0', which is also in package libpostproccvs51
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/libavutil49_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/libavcodec51_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/libpostproc51_0.svn20080206-8_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
That's it! Now whatever I try to install gives me the same error. I suppose KPackage is just trying to complete the outstanding tasks.
How do I solve this?

Thanks for looking!

Update: the failed updates have now crippled my Video Playing programs..... WTF!!!!!
And I have been so good lately *sniff*

My Computer

although i'm not as good as you, maybe hashing out some of your sources temporarily, update, fix dependencies & enable sources you disabled
Off Topic:

i may be wrong, but, the problem seems to say sources
