Default Problems with new graphics card

Hi,

I've recently purchased an nvidia 8800 GTS 512mb and it's bluescreening every time I try and open a game (yes not like me but thought I'd try) or press the on button on my sound mixer that requires Direct X 9 or above.

I initially installed the drivers that came with the card and when they didn't work, downloaded the latest drivers from the nVidia site, which unfortunately do not work either. I've also installed the Direct X 10 SDK.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what's wrong? Any help would be very much appreciated,

When you say the drivers 'don't work' do you mean they wouldn't install or they wouldn't fix your issue?
