Which Processor is better?

Which is better for Heavy High End Gaming? I will be playing games like GTA 4 and Crysis.

Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad 2.53GHz
Or
Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz?
Please say why you think that.

Please do not mention any other Processor. i just want an answer for this.

I would lean towards the Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad 2.53GHz. I'm not 100% sure of this one but even though the i7 is a fair bit newer that's a pretty massive different in clock speed. I think the i7 720QM is more of a laptop processor.

I think they are both laptop CPU's. I'm fairly sure there is no Core 2 Quad Extreme 2.53GHz desktop version. At least not in that clock speed.
