Question Processor confusion.

Hi, im a newb to computres like many people, my question was for the following people who are willing to help.

I have an S-Series Mother bored, its the one in white and green box.

Anyway, i been trying to buy some new stuff on it like a ram graphics card harddrive and all other rubbish, thing is, i don't really know much about processors, how do i know which one will suit my motherboard, is their different types for different mother boards, what would someone reconmend me.

i have, i want to play the latest games in the future, so best advice,

I am not sure what the S-Series Motherboard is, But I think you would want over 2 ghz processor.. and instead of Vista, I would go with XP pro..

My Computer

You'll need to stick with a CPU using the LGA775 socket. I believe that the Core 2 Duo/Quad and Pentium E (these are basically Core 2's with a slower FSB and less cache, the other Pentium's and such are older technology) should work just fine.

A service pack is a collection of fixes that Microsoft has rolled into one package. Each Service Pack is cumulative, so you only need to install the latest one, not each individual one. Depending on the fixes, you may see a speed improvement.
