Okay well not exactly that bad but concidering the hype over the power and visual might of the console you'd sure expect anything the developers though at it to run great right? Especially the lauch titles. We'll so is not the case with Quake 4. Apparently, according to GameSpot: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/acti...e4/review.html there are some major fps problems with this PC port. Looks like there was no optimization at all and the result was ugly and choppy. It's a real shame for anyone who just payed $300-400 on a console, $60 on the game, and who knows how much on a HDTV if they didn't have one only to get a really poor experience. We'll at least highend PC owners can rejoice over this one.

XBOX 360 is a total waste of time, i played it today in gamestation shop in york, bloddy crap the graphics were, infact the only good thinkgs about the graphics is, lighting, and things like coble stones looks more 3d when closer up, appart from that, in alot of games, i could compare those graphics to the ps2 and xbox, and that xbox 360 was damnd loud, and it had 1 inch plastic coating around it.
yet another breeze block from microsoft, even the controlers look cheap and nasty. so the xbox 360 struggles to run quake 4 on what would be maximum settings on pc, the graphics card inside the xbox cant be that good then :\.

In all fairness these are the first crop of games, I'm sure every console goes though a rough patch in the beginning. For $400 the fact that it can run Quake 4 somewhat is pretty good. There are plenty of other sweet games that run perfectly at 60fps, like Perfect Dark 0 and Kameo Power Element and look exceptional. You may have been playing a game also available on the other consoles like Gun or whatever and in that regard it will look about the same as on a PS2. And as I said in another thread sometimes store owners don't use the proper cables or a good TV so the games come out looking a little cheesy for what you'd expect. Naturally this should all be smoothed out as the console ages.

Waffles was just messing with you man, no harm intended
![]() Sounds like you were checking out Kameo, I've heard the first hour of the game was pretty bad and you were just thrown right into the mix and only afterwards were you given a pointless tutorial about stuff you obvioulsy would have known by now, like how to move. Supposed to get a lot better as it goes on though.

John Carmack predicted this from the moment he heard MS was going with a 3-PPC console rather than a single fast x86-64. He said they'd have performance problems, and it'd be difficult to get multi-threaded games which are optimized for 3 PPCs to run stable due to the uneven amount of CPUs (no cross-thread checking possible). I figure by the time they get the hang of programming for the XB360, PS3 will be out with its cell processor (much easier to write for)... not to mention how far PC gaming will have come by then.
Bottom line? I'll own an XBox 360 when somebody gives me one, including all the games, for free. Not before then. ![]() -AT

I see what you're saying but a lot of the current single threaded games like Perfect Dark 0, Kameo, Call of Duty 2, etc. look great and run just fine. Just some of the ports don't work out so great, it's pretty early in the game to say what will happen. I also have read that the 360 has superior developer tools as well.
