planing on building my first coputer and iv' got all the nessicary knowledge except for one thing, some progessor info.
now i was planning on getting a ASUS P4P800 delux (wee.) now my questions are- its for the 865PE chipsets, and i cant find exactly wich chip that is. all i can find chips listed by are speeds but not models, so wich ship is that exactley? my other question is does it support processors OTHER than the 865pe? |

The i865PE is the chipset. It supports the Pentium 4 CPU.
While I've been using AMD for awhile now, I've not been impressed with the supposedly premier nForce 2 chipset. I like Intel as the CPU heatsink retention doesn't require a screw driver in most cases (some exotic ones might). You don't get that with AMD...at least not unless you fork out for the Athlon 64. |
