Hey all,
I just upgraded from having 2x 256mb of pc2100 ram to 1x of 512mb pc3200, all working ok, but in the bios the dram clock is 200mhz (the highest avaliable), is that right? i thought it was supposed to be 400mhz or am i just being stupid lol |

200Mhz is the clock speed which operates at 400Mhz DDR
so they are correct speeds!

dont mean to interupt, but in my bios, the dram clock is 400mhz on pc3200 ram, shouldent it be 200mhz for me? :-O
as on the main screen, it says 400mhz, but on speedfan |

Might be that your BIOS is showing the effective speed of the RAM, as to not confuse the user.

Your BIOS might just display it differently so its easier to understand!
As there is no way it'd run at 800Mhz DDR!

try , using the windows classic theme, as just the windows desktop uses alot of memory.
have you got alot of programs starting up when windows starts up. go onto task manager, and have a look at processes, end all the unecessery ones. |

Try going into msconfig,
Run > msconfig > startup tab > and untick all uneccessary startup programs!

Well now you have two different speeds in there it might be worth considering getting a further 512MB of PC3200 and swapping out the PC2100!
