i am running windows xp and i cannot get my computer into safe mode! any ideas? I tried pressing F8 but nothing came up, then i tried F9 but i can't select other options.

try holding M while you boot...I think that might work.. I can never remember it. I usually just turn of the power off while the windows black screen appears and the little blue progress thing is going across the little bar. then when you boot up the next time you can choose to go into safe mode or boot normally blahblah blah
