Red face and the saga continues

i had problems with moving my HP motherboard to another case. It turned out that somehow the cpu fan header shorted. I ordered a new motherboard and got everything installed. It booted up fine with no problems. i started to reinstall windows xp, everything was working good. i left the room as windows was installing, and the next time i went in i guess it had finished the preliminary install of XP and restarted. it was frozen at a boot screen. anyways, i hit reset to start the install again everything was going fine, again. But as i chose the partition on where i wanted XP to install to, and my wireless keyboard accidentily disconnected. when i reconnected it, the pc froze. this time when i restarted it, it had system beeps.
my problem now is that the monitor will not turn on. everything on the inside is getting power, and it looks as if it is booting, but the monitor acts as if it isnt plugged in,

I hope your luck isn't so bad that your monitor went bad right at that very moment. How old is it?

My Computer

Did you order a motherboard from HP, or did you buy one from a PC shop (online or local)? Also, I'm not familiar with what ya had in your system, so could you list the specs as best you can?

i ordered the new board from www.googlegear.com. i found it on pricewatch.com and found reviews for them from tomshardware.com.

PROBELM:
I just got the new motherboard today (Gigabyte GA-7ZXE). I installed it along with everything else into the new case. Everything was going fine, and it seemed that i had successfully installed everything. As Windows XP pro was installing, it froze. When i reset it, i got system beeps and the computer no longer boots. It doesnt even get to the BIOS screen. It almost acts as if there is no RAM installed (and the ram that is installed works).

Trouble shooting attempts that failed with no results:
1.) Tried to determine if the AGP ATI card was in conflict with the system by installing a PCI 16 mb card. No luck!

2.) DIfferent power source. No luck!!

3.) DIsconnected everything from the motherboard except for 1 ram stick and the hard drive. Still no Luck!!!

4.) used different combinations of every type of SDRAM that i had in my house. (ram that works in other PCS) no Luck!!!!

5.) Took a second look at the CPU to make sure it wasnt fried, and it wasnt.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
WHat i dont understand about this entire thing is that when i first got everything installed, it worked (15 minutes). It stopped working when i tried to install XP and froze. From that point on i cant even get it to boot. No Bios screen, no DIsplay; NOTHING. i dont know what else to try, and any help would be appreciated.

SYSTEM:
Gigabyte GA-7ZXE
Athlon 1 GHz
ATI Radeon 7200 AGP
256 & 128 pc133 sdram
60 GB 7200
16x yamaha cdrw
16x dvd rom

My Computer

Might be the power supply, especially if your fans are spinning at all.
