The internet & MP3 player drain the battery like crazy. I have the Samsung SPH-a920 and it will last 3 days with moderate voice usage. If I have the MP3 player on or internet it's dead in about 1.5-4 hours depending on what I'm doing.
Even leaving the media player open without having an mp3 playing kills the battery like nothing. |

Hi,
My recent experience seems to suggest that it could be a fault with the phone. I bought two D900's from Virgin last week for my wife and I. While they are reconditions phones they look as good as new (and were half the price!) While we've only had them a week I've noticed that my phone lasts no longer than 9hrs even after a full charge and very little use while my wifes shows no sign of battery use at all. At first we thought I must have a dud battery so we swapped them over but this made no difference. After a little surfing for advice I found a site suggesting how to get the best out of your battery and I've tried all of this (switch off bluetooth, dim the screen, shorten the display settings etc) and this made no difference at all. We have even done a direct compare, play the same amount of music and games etc and for some strange reason my phone lasts a fraction of the time compared to the missus! - I've even noticed that it seems to be using battery even on stand-by. I wasn't sure at first if I was accidentally pressing the buttons when the phone was in my pocket which would illuminate the screen but we have even ruled that out too... So it really does look like a phone fault. As they are on 28 day approval I have had them swap the phones - the new one has come today (I can't complain at all about the service from Virgin). I'm a little worried if I will have the same problem with this as it's probably been returned by another frustrated D900 user but I'll let you know how I get on. If there is a fault or a bad batch this would explain why some users find fault with the battery life and others love it! Andy |
