Default Sata 1.5gb/s or 3gbs?

Ok so i have my computer currently with a 120gb hard drive. Im running out of space so i want to buy another hard drive. I know my mobo supports IDE and SATA, but for SATA its SATA 1.5gb. If i get a SATA 3gb/s will it still work on my mobo, or do i have to buy another SATA 1.5gb?
Thanks

My Computer

A SATA2 HDD will work fine. You may have to place a jumper on the drive though.
