Default Screen blinks once then goes blank

I have a Dell lcd screen. Out of nowhere the screen isnt working. It blinks once and then goes blank. The computer runs fine. I can see the login screen when the monitor blinks once. Can I fix this?

Possibly. It sounds likely it could be a dodgy backilight. You can fix it yourself but its probably better to do the cowardly thing and take it back. HOw old is it? If its old and out of warranty search google for articles on replaceing LCD backlights. It should be as easy as changing the tube but be careful!!

So if you change the monitor with another one, then you have video (right)
Your Problem is with Either the Monitor or a Video card.. Now if it still does this
with another Monitor,Then it would be either Video card or Mother Board..
