My Computer

Default Screen capture

Hi all

I know there are some graphics buffs here so I am sure someone can put me in the right direction.

For work (windows XP pro) I need to train people to use a certain program. The easiest thing to do for me is to capture the live screen as I am setting things up etc. Do you know of a free program (payed software will not do!) which will capture my screen activity as I go along?
Just to confirm - I am not looking for snapshots, but a proper video clip of everything that I am doing on the screen.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Sniper.
WinAVI is a brilliant program which I have used many times before but I do not think it can capture screen activity. Unless of course I missed something.
The second link has a program (AviScreen) I found elsewhere and tried yesterday. Unfortunately the results were not very impressive... only one encoder worked and it was really choppy. But maybe with a bit of excercise I can perfect it...

So, I am still looking...

Many thanks for the help!

<Alt> + <Print Screen> & <Ctrl> + <Print Screen> 1 copies either the currently active window to the clipboard in BMP format and 1 copies the full screenshot, then just open a grafx program & paste it, then save it to whatever format you like

can't remember which key combo does what

I know how to take snapshots of my screen. God knows how many presentations I have prepared doing just that.....

No, I am looking for a program which will, how shall I say it, capture a movie of the screen activity. As I have mentioned, I have found a program to do that but it creates a clip which is very jumpy, even with settings of 32fps. I was wondering if there is a free utility out there which generates a smoother result.
