Second Life problem!!

Im not sure how i would catergorize this one so i'll just put it here for now.

I thought after all the hype i would check out Second Life and see what everyone is raving about so i checked out the website and registered an account. I downloaded the program and installed it on my comp, reconfigured my firewall for any possible access problems and even updated all my drivers to run the program.

So how disappointing to find that after all that, that my PC just wouldn't entertain it. I clicked the icon and even tried loading it from the .exe file but after clicking, my comp thought about it for 5 secs and then went back to its usual idle state as if the program wasnt even installed.

So im at odds as to why it wont load.

Any Ideas?
