My Computer

Default Selecting a new AGP video card

I'm currently looking for a new graphic card at $50 max. I plan to play Team Fortress 2 with this card. The current cards i have in mind are :

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100232L Radeon HD 2400PRO 256MB 64-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X HDCP Ready Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Newegg.com - BIOSTAR V6802XA16 GeForce 6800XT 128MB 64-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

OR

A 7300GT from ebay at a fairly cheap price.

Please give feedback and suggestions. One other question i have is, is there a big performance difference between a 6800 and a 7300?

Yes. The 6800 was the top-end of the 6-series GeForce, while the 7300 was the low-end of the 7 series. The 6800 is comparable to the 7600, if not a little faster. I'm not sure where the 2400 fits in, but it's not a high-end card either.

The good news is that the Source engine behind TF2 doesn't require a power-house to run. Any of the choices you've listed will be a world of difference from the GeForce 4 MX you have listed in your specs.
