Series of the Month: FYI

Every month, as of November 2004, there will be a series of the month posted in the announcements of this forum. This is to highlight various series and give a broad overview of the different available genres. The series listed will be ones that are completely available on DVD (and possibly VHS), meaning you can purchase/rent them without any legal qualms.

A few things will be listed: the full series title in the English translation, the number of episodes, the age rating, the company making it available in the US (I can add UK and AUS companies if someone lets me know the company that's liscenced the series), the basic plot, and a reason why you should watch it.
