    Default setting up a LAN

I recently bought a wireless router and have connected a second computer to share the internet on it. I was also interested in wondering how to build a LAN connection- I thought that by me sharing the same router as the other computer I would be on a LAN and could play games on a LAN connection rather than a internet one but the LAN doesnt seem to be working.

Do I need any other equipment to set up a LAN connection or do I need to configure my computer? I also wondered how to build the network so that both computers can send something to a printer

Never trust a program you don't have the source code for.

If your PCs are on the same subnet, they should be able to communicate. However, if Windows Firewall is enabled you will be unable to host LAN games, etc. Disable the firewall since the PCs are behind a router anyway, unless there is insecure wireless in the equation.
