My Computer

Go to the wireless connection in windows>right click>properties>and check the properties of TCP/IP protocol and the DHCP settings are alright.

Make sure the router is configured properly and that the laptop is configured to work correctly with the router. Some routers require MAC authentication, in that case you will have to discover the hardware MAC address of her laptop's wireless adapter and add it into the appropriate dialog in the router. If in doubt, refer to the router's documentation.
