Default Sony LCD problem.

Hello.

I've got a 15" Sony LCD monitor which I've had for quite a while.
It's been absolutely fine until today, when I press the power button instead of turning 'off' (as in the screen expecting to go black) instead it goes white.

The only way I can stop this is unplugging the monitor. When I actually want it on it works absolutely fine, no disclours or anything - absolutely perfect.

I thought it might be a few things, so I tried the following:

1. To check it wans't my PC / operating system, I unplugged it from my actual PC and tried plugging it back, immediately hte white was back again.
2. I unplugged everything and blew inside to remove any dust.
3. Tried a 'reset' on the menu, nothing though...

Any ideas???

Thanks!

Try the monitor in another computer to see if the same thing happens.

Yes, and as addid said, plug into a different computer!
This is to try and establish if it's your video card or your monitor!

But if it still happened when the monitor was not connected to a computer (i.e. I unplugged the cable from the PC and then 'switched the monitor on' and got hte same, that rules that out..)

The monitor might be interpreting the wrong signal, so it's makes white.
Have you contacted Sony or read their faq's?
