Hi, i have got my new logitech z5500's, when i turn the bass up to full (10) its usually on 4*, but i turned it up to 10, then i turned the volume up to 15 out of 20/31, and i hear a sound that is somthing like wood vibrating on top of a desk or somthing coming from the subwoofer, i am wondering weather its just the floorboards under it, or actually the speaker, when i hear this sound, the bass form the subwoofer usually is pretty emense, the windows in my room are almost to breaking point, but the point is, i seen reviews, and things that show that this system wont distort even at full, now 15-20 seems close ot full, but its actually max volume of 31 when using the boost, the speakers can go all the way to 31 withought distorting, this is far too loud for comfort tho, but subwoofer on 10 out of 10 and volume on 15 out of 20, i hear that wierd tapping wood sound, i would of thought i could of gone 100% full with no distortion with a sound system of this quality :s

My guess is that the sound is causing something in the room to vibrate with it. I've experienced things like that a few times.

hmm, yea thats possible, at first i thought it was the window ledge come loose, but i listen near the sub, and it really does sound like its coming from the sub, but i suppose either way i doesent matter becouse i cant sustain bass like that for a long amount of time coz it seems it's damaging the room and the windows :p

i just checked it out again, it is indeed the subwoofer :\, i dont understand what coulds be wrong with it, it looks ok :s
i shined a tourch at the speaker so i could clearly see it, turned it up, and it was really vibrating alot, i think maybe the subwoofer cant handle its own power? as i said it sounds like ratling wood, well, its a kind of flapping noise aswell, so maybe its the speaker vibrating?
