Nope either me or you have got confused somewhere (more likely me).

If you had been thanked 18.5 times per post, then you would have hundreds of thousands of thanks!

Instead, when you post 18.5 messages, you get thanked. So if you divide the number of posts total by 18.5, you get the number of thanks you've had.

To try and visualise this, imagine each of these is a post:
