I don't think so. For a x800 that score is rather low. My previous 9800XT got 50000+ I was expecting at least 70000+ from a X800.

For doom 3 and FC i haven't really run those fps test, but i got 9300 for 3d mark03. Which is kinda low to me. I could have scored better if I was able to overclock my CPU. :'( I don't use 3d mark01 it's too troublesome to install.

To a certain extent, yes. For example, if you were to have the best cooler which will be able to bring down the temperature are keep it within safe temperatures, it is possible to squeeze those frames out of your card. However, even as you are able to overclock it extremely, you must notice the following things:

-Overclocking reduces lifespan

-there is a locked limit of internal and external clock speeds in other words, the card's architecture has a limit that you cannot push over, a possible symtom is artifacts even when the card is well cooled

But I think it's rather ok to overclock it. I don't think you are new to overclocking so you'll probably know your limits.

Artifacts are a simple mix of too little volts and not enough cooling..Not all cards have "Golden" components and would be able to be pushed. Also it's not just overclocking your graphics card. Other bottlenecks maybe present in your system that just OCing your Graphics will not overcome. Such as Mem bandwidth, Slot bus speed, CPU condition and so on..

Yep. Frogs right. You probably wanna increase the apperature size of your card in the BIOS and also increase the MHZ of your PCI-E bus. All we can say is that there are MANY MANY many .... factors that affect the results of overclocking.

lol i dont have PCI-EXPRESS, also i have the aperature size to 128mb.

surely a 3.0ghz pentium 4 prescott with 1mb l2 catch is not a bottleneck :s

ok, when i put the agp aperture size to 256, i got a score of 64,196 in aquamark 3

is there anyhting else i should change in bios, what timings would be good for value ddr ram with no heat spreaders on, there currently at comthing like 3-8-8-8 or somthing, i cant remember, it might be 3-3-8-8, what do you think would be the lowest i could lower the timings to.
