I come to preach the word of ATI. ATI has been tested against nVidia by computer shopper and kicked :swear: . i have a post about it somewhere, if I find it I will link it up.

If you want to heed Max's teachings then the X850Pro or X800XT are nice alternatives.

Yes yes, they are excellent alternatives. Now for just $372 a month you can support the Church of ATI :good:. And also, here is that link.

EDIT: All payments can be made directly to my Paypal account :good:
EDIT 2: The link is broken, I'll get right on that.
EDIT 3: My bad, the link isn't broken.

Yea, well, there's nothing wrong with giving kudos to ATI *kudos to ATI by the way*, but I can accept that nVidia does have good alternatives.

Oh great. More to research. I really like the reviews on the X850XLPE. If I can get a good price on that I'm going to switch, otherwise I think I'll stick with the 6800GT.

    Thanks!

Canada is really cool, but we're getting off track as usual. Yeah, no hope of getting a cheap X850XTPE any where but Ebay, and even then don't count on it. It's much faster than the 6800GT but the X800XT is too, just not to the same extent.

Assuming you have a PCI-Express compatable motherboard then yeah that's an awesome card, ATI's best:good: Nice find but better get it quick if you can. Just hope you have an nForce 4 mobo.

Because it's generally regarded as the best chipset supporing PCI-Express (for AMD), there's also the Xpress 200 but it only supports up to 2 gigs of ram and has some stability issues on occasion. What motherboard do you have?

    I have the
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
    on my list to buy.

I assume this is a good one?

I got it man and its awesome, i highly recommend it, it's recently beaten the top 3Dmark05 score too, its just an amazing chipset, go for it.

the features like RAID 10, and 5, obviously you don't use, but its got alot of things that you might use later, and it comes with a hell of cables to help you out, 4 ide and 8 SATA.

Its also 2ghz speed, squeezes out the max speeds from amd cpus, everything is positioned good, and its good for cooling

I've been reading the reviews of the board, and everything sounds great except for the chipset fan noise. Can you tell me how bad it really is?

I hear nothing at all, Because I have a revised version its fan is different than on the picture, I bet you'll get the new one too, and also its an addition with the cool n quiet technology utility puts down noise of the overall system too.

In my opinion its very quiet

Thanks for the update. I may go for the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium for $30 more just to be sure. How long ago did you get the board? I'm just wondering how many of the boards with faulty fans are out there.
