Which part are you not sure about?
What is a UPS or the specifications?

    UPS -
Is a device that provides continuous, reliable power to your computer. It is a device that plugs into your outlets and you then plug your computer, monitor, and other components into. It uses a battery to make sure that the computer will stay on even if there is a power outage. These are generally used only for critical machines and servers, but they can also be useful at home if you have blackouts/brownouts or voltage irregularities.

Basically, it can handle 3000 Volt AC Surges (up to 2250 Watts) and operates off 120V!

There are 2 types of UPS systems. One is Online UPS which is true UPS and the other is Standby UPS. An Online UPS uses AC power from mains to charge a high capacity battery which in turn powers the computer. If for any reason the mains electricity is lost the battery will power the computer. One huge benefit of Online UPS is power conditioning which will make sure your PSU has clean smooth AC current.

A Standby UPS will not protect a PC as well as an Online one but are much cheaper. A standby UPS only engages the battery when the voltage drops to around 90V. This type of UPS doesn't power condition so there's no added protection here.
