Cant formate a secondary hard drive

    Hello i cant install a second hard drive for more space. This is why when ever i go to mycomputer > Manage > storage it tell me " there are no items to show in this view". is there any other way i can install a my hard drive?

    You will need to make sure that you actualy installed the drive correctly inside the computer.

    The 'new' drive should 'sit' midway on the IDE ribon and the jumper at the back should be set to slave.
    Unless of course the drive is sitting on it's own IDE channel.
    Then you are better to have it at the end of the ribbon and the jumper set to Master.

    If any of the information does not make sense please reply and the forum will try and point you in the right direction.
    Obviously if you have already done the above then you have a different problem on you hand.

    Also, if your drive is more than 130GB then make sure that you have XP SP1/SP2, otherwise windowns wont recognise more than that.....
