All of the IT geeks out there knew it. But they didn't want to accept the fact. But finally the time has come. The AMD Athlon XP is going to be put down. This loyal and great performing value chip has been AMDs flagship processor for many many months but now it must retire for the new value CPU the Sempron and the mainstream product the Athlon64. AMD will stop selling the AthlonXP at the end of this month and the only remaining species will be the Sempron for value. However you can still find fossilised remnants of the AXP on ebay or online shops while they have stock.
