Hello... I also have this issue to deal with. Any help would be appreciated. The wires on my case are listed as follows Mic In , Mic Bias , Ground , Spk Out R , Spk OutL , Return R , Return L While the motherboard is worded as follows Mic , Mic Power , Aud-Out R , Aud-Out L , GND , +5VA , GND (again) , Backout-R , Backout-L Please help me match these up. Thanks.
Normally, all this should be covered by the motherboards manual. If you have not got a manual it would help to know the make and model. However, as there is nothing to lose. Attached is a chart from my motherboard - an ASRock P4V88.
Thanks, but what about the fact that the case only has seven wires, and the motherboard has 10 pins. Do all the pins have to be used, and what exactly is the dummy pin. Is that used or not? Oh and I am using an ASRock 775V88+ motherboard, and I do have the manual. The only problem is that the wording on the motherboard and the wires on the case are different, and I just can't figure out what matches with each other.
I know one pin isn't even there, and I'm also thinking that there's an extra ground wire missing as well, but that still leaves only 8....
Do all the pins have to be used. Is the dummy supposed to have something hooked to it or is it just a dummy and left empty. Also how do I know which is positive and which is negative if they are not labeled accordingly.
The figure I posted does show 7 pins configuration. The dummy can probably be connected to the extra GND or left out. Which figure is more like your case cables? The top one or bottom? Try the following: Your wires on the left and the board pins on the right: Mic In -----> MIC Mic Bias--->MIC POWER Ground---->GND Spk Out R->Aud-out-R Spk Out L-->Aud-out-L Return-R-->Backout - R Return-L-->Backout - L No need for the 5V+ or the second ground. It should work. I am sure it worked for me.... I am sorry but it means opening my case and I have not got time at the moment.... sorry.
