Generic VGA

    When i try to play Halo or use microsofts game advisor my IGP card is always scan'd as a generic VGA whats with that its becoming an annoyance its like my graphics arent recognized ive insalled the drivers for it any one had this problem before

    What is the card reported as in device manager?

    what is the card? [model]

    anything else you can add? (that might help)

    Quick shot in the dark -

    Does your motherboard require AGP drivers? I know mine does.
    I had a hell of a time with my card untill I installed the AGP drivers for my motherboard.

    Just a guess....

    i dont have a AGP slot but i do have two PCI - E slots and 2 PCI so i dont kno why its doing this is it because its a relatively new chipset. Well i got halo working but only the trial version :(

    In my device manager it says Nvidia Geforce 6100 under display adapters

    under adapter info in the display section in control panel its says this

    Adapter information:
    Chip Type: GeForce 6100
    DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC
    Memory Size: 256 MB
    Adapter String: GeForce 6100
    BIOS Information: Version 5.51.22.24.02

    PS: the motherboard model is in my, my computer section
